Last Valentine’s Day was a double release day for me, as the penultimate issues of both Abbott 1979 and Deer Editor came out. Here’s a little preview of both of them.

Deer Editor Comes To Mad Cave Studios

A John Doe slaying lures a journalist into a world of political intrigue, a wi-fi-enabled grotto, and a station locker full of secrets. For Bucky, an editor of the crime beat at “The Truth,” it’s all in a day’s work…

…but he also happens to be a deer.

Deer Editor, an originally crowdfunfed antler-noir miniseries by Ryan K Lindsay and me, will be published by Mad Cave Studios in 2024. We couldn’t be more excited to get our anthropomorphic story into stores!

Here’s a little preview of the first issue, which is available for pre-order now. The colors are by Lauren Affe and letters by Jim Campbell.

DEER EDITOR: HACK Kickstarter ended last Thursday. We reached our fully funded goal in under 7 hours, which was pretty awesome. But it was more awesome that we ended on 514 backers, when we were aiming for 400 (54 more than last time)! We are very thankful for everyone who supported us. We hope you all dig Hack!

DEER EDITOR: HACK is now on Kickstarter. The campaign was fully funded in under 7 hours, but we still have 27 days to go!

If you don’t know Bucky yet, this is the last chance to get the whole Deer Editor trilogy, as issues #1 and #2 are also available through this Kickstarter campaign.

Deer Editor: Hack is a 48 tablet page B+W mature readers comic from Ryan K Lindsay and me. It’s about Bucky, the editor of the crime beat at 'The Truth', who also happens to be a deer.

Bucky returns to Sheltered Cove to settle a score with an old nemesis, and then sets out on a rescue mission road trip which devolves into something else very quickly.

This issue closes an overall 3 issue arc of Deer Editor, and we wrap up some threads from the debut one-shot and the Fearless issue we Kickstarted in March. Bucky has survived but finds himself displaced and with a new story before him, the elusive one he's missed all along - the Mayor's daughter, Rose.

Bucky is back!

DEER EDITOR: FEARLESS is now on Kickstarter. Written by Ryan K Lindsay and art by me.

Deer Editor: Fearless is a 48 tablet page B+W mature readers comic about Bucky, the editor of the crime beat at 'The Truth' who also happens to be a deer. This issue connects us from the brutal ending of #1 (Kickstarted successfully earlier) and throws Bucky deeper into this story of Sheltered Cove as he finds himself hostage to the true arcane leaders of his fair city.
