Beach Noir – Page Process
Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m always interested in seeing how a comic book page gets done. The subject came up last night at the Helsinki Comics Festival as well and I wanted to share the art process of a page, which is from the Beach Noir project written by Ryan K Lindsay.
Step 1: Thumbnail
Step 2: Rough layout. Drawn with a non-photo blue pencil and mechanical pencil HB 0.5. Size approx. 3.5 inches wide and 5 inches high.
Step 3: Pencils. Drawn on a Bristol board, size A3, with 2.0 mm leadholder.
Step 4: Inks. Inked with Raphael 8404 brush, size 1, and Staedtler pens, sizes 05 and 07, and with different types of nibs.
Step 5: Colors by Marissa Louise
Step 6: Letters by Nic J. Shaw
